Protecting Your Paycheck

Once you've filed your bankruptcy papers, you'll receive a case number from the bankruptcy court.

If you're expecting a garnishment of your wages, be sure to contact your payroll department and provide them with your bankruptcy case number. This will usually legally halt the garnishment and protect your income.
